Erään projektini alku
Dear First Lady of Finland,
Suzanne Innes-Stubb
I would be obliged if you would give few minutes to my lowly letter. My intention is to create a inter-cultural association for promoting British culture in Finland and Finnish culture in Britain. I have been an anglophile from my earliest toddler-days. From my mothers side I have also ancestors in England and Scotland. I have cultivated an historically full ideal about British culture, and I have always thought in a way that younger cultures should be aiming to bring princicples and older cultural habitus from older and more sophisticated cultures like UK. In cultures which do not have so long and prestigious history like the larger countries in Central- and Western Europe, can bring principles for older cultures, because in young cultures there is freshness and happy go lucky athmosphere because cultural norms are not in so deep and periculous in younger cultures compared with older and bigger cultures like Germans, British and French. Your englishness is a matter which should not be undermined especially in intercultural relations and charities. I have studied philosophy and my academic title is Master of Social Sciences, but my doctoral dissertation is on its way nearing completion. From British cultural sphere I am at the moment interested to study about Conservative Party and it's former pressure group Conservative Monday Club. Especially I have always admired former Enoch Powell. I have the great honour to ask you to come to found Suzanne Innes-Stubb's Anglo Fennica Association. I have Finnish contacts in Britain and British contacts in Finland. For example I have been in contact with a lady who is responsible about ”Suomi-koulu” in Britain. I am confident about the economical side and deepening and widening the contacts with British companies in Finland and Finnish companies in Britain. With your generous concern and notion of the project would bring more Finnish people to understand and admire British culture and its long genteelness in a way we have not seen earlier in Finnish history.. The influx is not intendend to be one sided, and because of that British people should be encouraged to get more information of Finland and Finnish people. This project would be non-profital in total. Charity and deepening contacts between our two cultures is the general aim of this project. For the running of things, we should gain members from both sides, Finnish people living in Britain and British people living in Finland. I am the initiator of this project, and I have not informed about the intricacies of this project with anyone until now. Lager and football is not the whole story.
I have honour to be
With highest consideration
Your humble servant
Olli von Becker
